Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the peoples of the CIS countries and also Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Georgia, on the 66^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev put forward proposals to further improve international legislation on the safety of nuclear power stations.

Summit participants discussed the outcomes of Russia’s presidency of the Commonwealth and identified priorities for the upcoming year.

The summits are set to take place on December 9–10, 2010 in Moscow.

Dmitry Medvedev took part in the V Forum of Creative and Academic Intellectuals of the CIS Member States. The forum's theme is Innovative and Humanitarian Partnership: the Basis for Dynamic Development of CIS States.

Taking part in the summit in Crimea at initiative of President of Ukraine were President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergei Lebedev.

In his remarks, the President analysed the economic situation in Russia and the world and outlined Russia’s economic modernisation plans.

The summit concluded with the adoption of a joint message from the CIS heads of state to war veterans and those who toiled on the home front on the 65^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
