At the meeting of the Presidential Council for the Development of the Information Society in Russia dedicated to assessing interim results and prospects of employing information and communication technologies, Dmitry Medvedev noted that their development and implementation have special relevance in a country like Russia, given its enormous distances.

Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants and guests of the Tver Social and Economic Forum Information Society.

Dmitry Medvedev invited the meeting participants to share their vision of the Skolkovo Innovation Centre being built near Moscow, and the way its activities should be organised.

Dmitry Medvedev visited a Silicon Valley branch of the Russian company Yandex.

The President’s tour of Silicon Valley began with a visit to the offices of Twitter Incorporated.
