Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security.

This will be the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security’s third meeting.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Rosneft CEO and Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin. The meeting focused on the company’s performance in 2012 and plans for 2013.

The meeting focused on the Natural Resources Ministry’s plans for 2013, which has been declared the Year of the Environment in Russia.

Transneft’s 2012 results and the state of progress with its investment programme were the subjects of discussion.

The issues discussed included draft Energy Security Doctrine, the current trends in production, processing and marketing of natural gas, and the prospects of electric power cooperation between Russia and the European Union.
