Modern infrastructure development in the housing and utilities sector was discussed at the State Council Presidium meeting held in Syktyvkar.

The First Deputy Prime Minister briefed the President on the situation on the domestic grains market and the implementation of the Federal Targeted Programme for Social Development in Rural Areas.

During the videoconference, Dmitry Medvedev and the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Kobylkin discussed the socioeconomic situation in the region, in particular focusing on relocating the residents of dilapidated housing.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law introducing amendments to Federal Law On State Regulation of the Organisation and Conduct of Gambling Activities and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Medvedev heard Alexander Khloponin’s report on carrying out the Presidential instructions regarding economic development in the North Caucasus.

Dmitry Medvedev signed executive orders conferring the title of City of Military Glory on Vladivostok, Tikhvin and Tver.

Dmitry Medvedev visited Kunashir, the southernmost of the Kuril Islands.

The meeting examined implementation of presidential instructions in a number of areas, including preventing unjustified housing and utilities tariff hikes, preparation of the housing and utilities sector for winter, reorganisation of state corporations, effective use of budget funds in the state procurement system, and provision of housing for Great Patriotic War veterans. 

Overcoming the impacts of flooding in the region was the subject of discussion.

Aftereffects of the drought and environmental supervision in the Volga River delta were the subjects of discussion.

A meeting of the Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia’s Economy devoted to implementing energy efficiency projects was held in Naberezhnye Chelny.

During his visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, Dmitry Medvedev took part in the launch ceremony of the first stage of the TANECO oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk.

In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, the President wished Sergei Sobyanin success in his position as Moscow Mayor, stressing that the job of the Russian capital’s head was a major responsibility.

The leader of Bashkortostan reported to Dmitry Medvedev on the social situation in the republic and the implementation of social programmes, in particular those aimed at the elderly.
