Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on the Status and Conditions of the Russian Military Base Presence on the Territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the current state and future development of Russia’s military aviation. Before the meeting, the President visited the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant, where he saw the final stage of the Su-34 multipurpose bomber’s assembly process.

Vladimir Putin visited the 76^th Guards Air Assault Division and took part in events commemorating the memory of soldiers from the 6^th Paratroopers Company killed in action.

At the meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, Vladimir Putin discussed domestic policy and a number of international issues.

Vladimir Putin took part in an expanded meeting of the Defence Ministry Board that reviewed the ministry’s work in 2012 and examined plans for the Armed Forces’ continued development.

In his address to the Defence Ministry Board members and senior commanders in the General Staff Academy in Moscow, the Commander in Chief will assess the progress of the military reform and identify key areas for further development of the Russian Armed Forces.

Vladimir Putin attended a concert marking Defender of the Fatherland Day. President Putin congratulated veterans and the Armed Forces’ military and civilian personnel on the holiday.

A reception marking the 70^th anniversary of the Red Army’s victory over Nazi Germany troops in the Battle of Stalingrad was held at the Grand Kremlin Palace on behalf of the Russian President.

An exchange of views on Russia’s Armed Forces’ organisation and development also took place, and the meeting examined domestic and external security issues.
