Dmitry Medvedev continued the series of meetings with the regional media. In Rostov-on-Don, the President met with media representatives from the Southern and North Caucasus federal districts.

During a visit to North Ossetia-Alania, Dmitry Medvedev visited the 58^th Army headquarters and discussed the Armed Forces’ modernisation at a meeting with officers. 

In Bashkortostan, Dmitry Medvedev met with media representatives of the Volga Federal District.

Measures to prevent the spread of radical and extremist ideology, the elimination of religious illiteracy, as well as issues topical for Muslim communities were discussed.

Dmitry Medvedev, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Alexander Lukashenko discussed integration in the Eurasian region and signed a number of joint agreements.

At the meeting Dmitry Medvedev announced having signed a Federal Law aimed at improving the mechanism of countering legalisation (laundering) of criminal incomes and the financing of terrorism.

The Internet’s role in political and social life was among the broad range of subjects discussed at the meeting. Mr Medvedev expanded his social network presence at the meeting by opening his own page on the VKontakte Russian social network service.
