Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Federal Law On Protecting Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Accession of the Russian Federation to the Convention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Cooperation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children.

Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On the National Children's Strategy for 2012–2017.

Vladimir Putin presented in the Kremlin the Order of Parental Glory to parents of large families raising between 7 and 13 children. The families come from eight Russia regions: Volgograd, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk regions, Trans-Baikal and Khabarovsk territories and republics of Ingushetia and Komi.

Protecting children’s rights was the main subject of discussion. The meeting took place on the eve of Children’s Day celebrated on June 1.
