Presidential adviser German Klimenko visited the Healthcare Ministry National Medical Research Centre for Cardiology, where he met with Professor Sergey Boitsov, DSc, general director of the centre, chief visiting specialist of the Ministry of Healthcare for preventive medicine and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 

Presidential Adviser German Klimenko has held a meeting with Acting Director of N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Centre, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Ivan Stilidi, and Director of the Russian Scientific Centre of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the Russian Federation Health Ministry, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, and Doctor Emeritus of Russia Vladimir Solodkin. The discussion focused on the use of digital technology in the early detection of cancer.

During his working trip to St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin visited the Almazov National Medical Research Centre.

The President signed a list of instructions on implementing the Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly of March 1, 2018.

Kinetika Engineering Centre hosted the Saving Lives National Demo Lesson. The President signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia on Cooperation in Providing Health Insurance to Citizens of the Russian Federation Permanently Residing in the Republic of Abkhazia within the Framework of the Russian Federation’s System of Mandatory Health Insurance, and in Providing These Citizens with Medical Assistance at the Medical Organisations of the Russian Federation.

Under discussion was the creation of an early diagnostic system to analyse digital IT images of patients.

Vladimir Putin learned about the work of the Institute for Fundamental Medicine and Biology of Kazan Federal University and held a video conference with the country’s top universities.

During his trip to Kolomna, Vladimir Putin visited the local perinatal centre.

Presidential Adviser German Klimenko chaired a meeting on the development of digital technology in healthcare. Taking part in the meeting were representatives of legislative and executive bodies, regional healthcare ministers and representatives of the medical and IT communities.

Following the opening ceremony of the first Global Ministerial Conference of the World Health Organisation, Vladimir Putin held a separate meeting with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom and UN First Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.

Vladimir Putin spoke at the opening of the first WHO Global Ministerial Conference titled Ending Tuberculosis in the Sustainable Development Era: A Multisectoral Response.

Ms Kovtun briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in the region. In addition, the project to enlist young doctors to work in the North as part of the Arctic Doctor programme was discussed.

Vladimir Putin met with Director of the National Research Centre for Emergency Children's Surgery and Traumatology and President of the National Medical Chamber Leonid Roshal.

The First International Medical Investment Forum was held on October 6, hosted by the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Government and business cooperation in healthcare was discussed at the event held at the directive of the Federation Council’s Commission on Social Policy.

Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Governor of the Pskov Region Andrei Turchak to discuss the situation in the region in 2016 and the first half of 2017. Mr Turchak also briefed the President on the implementation of the presidential instructions to settle personnel problems in the healthcare sector and relocate people from dilapidated and unsafe housing. Complaints sent in by Pskov Region residents during Direct Line with the President were also discussed.
