During his trip to Ufa Vladimir Putin met with muftis from Russia’s Muslim spiritual administrations. Meeting participants discussed current problems relating to cooperation between the government and Muslim religious organisations.

Strengthening interethnic unity was the subject of discussion. Dmitry Medvedev stressed that educational work has a big part to play in preventing interethnic conflicts and should be pursued more actively throughout the country.

Dmitry Medvedev held a videoconference with residents of several regions throughout the country, as well as with governors and federal agencies. Following the videoconference, the President issued a series of instructions on social issues.
