On February 2–6, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights made a working visit to the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to help establish a system to help children and to provide targeted assistance to children’s social facilities and families with children.

During a working trip to the Novosibirsk Region on October 12–13, Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova met with head of the region Andrei Travnikov, spoke at the plenary session of the 3^rd Teenagers 360 Interregional Forum, held a meeting on preventing social orphanhood in the region, opened a new teenage centre called Yunost, and placed orphans from the LPR with foster families.

On October 7, 53 orphans from the Donetsk People’s Republic arrived in the Moscow Region on a Russian Aerospace Forces plane with the assistance of Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.

On October 4, the President signed the Federal Constitutional Law On the Accession of the Lugansk People’s Republic to the Russian Federation and the Establishment of a New Constituent Entity of the Russian Federation, the Lugansk People’s Republic.

On October 4, the head of state signed the Federal Law On the Ratification of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People’s Republic on the Accession of the Lugansk People’s Republic to the Russian Federation and the Establishment of a New Constituent Entity of the Russian Federation.
